Sifu Greg Pritchett
Started Training in the martial arts when he
was very young. First training with his late uncle
Bayard Christie a 4th degree black belt in Shotokan
karate. By the age of 14 he was introduced to
Grandmaster James Allen, the founder of Siamese Kung
fu. Sifu trained under Grand Master Allen and Master
Lonnie Fleming for 2 years before going away to
school. Sifu loved the combat style of Siamese Kung
fu and wanted to continue his training but could not
find another school that was as intense. He felt
that the only way he could get the same level of
training was by training in a full contact art. Sifu
trained at various Muay Thai and boxing gyms
throughout Philadelphia, fighting as an amateur Muay
Thai fighter with a record of 21W 1L and 13 KOs as
an amateur Boxer, he had 15 W OL and 4KOs, Fighting
at 140lbs 155lbs and 165lbs
between the years of 1994 and 1996 Sifu had no
interest in the ring and was looking for a good
traditional school.
After relocating back to
Delaware in 1996 Sifu was reunited with Master
Lonnie Fleming and soon began training again. Sifu
always thought of himself as Master Lonnie's # 1
student only to find out that Master Lonnie's # 1
student was another, Sifu Robert Pritchett. Sifu
tried and tried to be victorious over Sifu Rob to
become Master Lonnie's #1 student, coming up
unsuccessful after each attempt. Not knowing that
Sifu Rob was a World Class Fighter and Olympic
Wrestler with decades of martial arts experience.
After many failed attempts and after Master Lonnie
relocated to Florida, Sifu Greg became Sifu Rob's
#1, student.
While training under Sifu Robert Pritchett, Sifu
Greg has fought on the lei tai and in the boxing
ring fighting in Muay thai, International
Kickboxing, American Kickboxing, Submission
Grappling and Sanshou. Sifu Greg is the only Black
sash instructor under Sifu Robert Pritchett winning
the silver medal at the USAWKF Nationals in 1999 in
Baltimore. In over 60 combined fights in 6
different fighting arts including submission style
grappling Sifu Greg has had only 5 defeats with 20
KOs.
During his fighting career, he
has also trained extensively in Nan Quan , Chang
Quan, Hung Gar and Chinese weapons. With this
knowledge Sifu has performed in many demonstrations
around the world demonstating Sanshou and Chinese
Kung fu. In the past Sifu Greg was a Chief
Instructor and Manager of a local Kung fu school in
Newark, DE. Sifu Greg also uses his skills as a Bail
Enforcement Agent and Private Investigator.
Sifu Greg has since embarked
on and focuses deeply within the internal martial
arts. After being excepted as a student Sifu Greg
continues his Chinese martial arts studies with Sifu
Anthony Lepoma.
Sifu Greg reminds us all of
how the quest for knowledge never ends. He continues
to study under many of the greatest martial artists
of today.
